Making wine blends is a challenge. If the blend is successful, a wine can be created that represents winemaking forever. With this considerable ambition, a new cuv\u00e9e called Pere\u0161ek was created. That is the name of the vineyard where we grow the vines. As the name of the wine suggests, it is a blend of red wines from our entire vineyard. It was a challenge for us to create a complex red wine that faithfully represents our terroir and varieties in each year. This is a cuv\u00e9e that emphasizes the three most important components of each wine: terroir, vintage and individual varieties. We were looking for complexity, nobility, a long but delicate taste in the wines. That is why we also used varieties that we have planted on a smaller scale, but that achieve excellent parameters every year and thrive in our vineyard. We tried to find the right ratio of varieties such as Rudava, Frankovka modr\u00e1, Merlot, Dunaj and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 vintage is based on Frankovka and Rudava, but with such a warm vintage, it was necessary to use a higher amount of Merlot to make the wine harmonious. This was followed by a longer aging in wooden barrels, from which we bottled the wine only in the summer of 2024. Pere\u0161ek is a wine that we want to produce annually, and thus offer the world a glimpse into our vineyard year after year, so that we can understand the development of the vineyard itself, the course of the weather and the vinification in a cross-section of the vintages.
